It’s the first time the 27-year-old has been in the Finnish national hockey team since the 2016 Winter Olympics in Russia.
Guapo said he’s excited to be back and playing in Finland.
He says he has had a lot of time to reflect.
The Finland team was the top-ranked team in the world last season and finished third in the 2018 World Cup in Russia after winning gold in Sochi.
Guapos father, Jussi, played in the World Cup, which included a gold medal for Finland.
Jussi Guapo, the father of Finnish hockey players Guapo and Alex, says his son has been very lucky and grateful for his time in the NHL.
GuAPOs team has made the Olympic team once again.
They are hoping to make the World Championship, which is scheduled to start on July 12.
They also have a young star on their team, goalie Jussie Heikkinen, who scored the overtime winner in a 2-1 win over Norway on Friday.
Guipo says the team has a lot to be thankful for.
He says it was tough but that he’s grateful for the support and the love from the Finnish people.
The Finnish hockey team has had some good luck this year, winning four gold medals, including two golds in the men’s World Cup and the women’s World Championship.
They lost two of their four bronze medals to Russia.
