A study conducted in 2016 by researchers at Cornell University found that people with a family history of ADHD, as well as people with an ASD or autism spectrum disorder, were more likely to be adopted by English shepherd puppies than those with no history of psychiatric disorders.
English shepherd breeds are popular with dogs of all ages and can have a range of traits, including the ability to sniff out danger and find hidden objects.
According to NCSET, English shepherd dogs have been bred for their strength and endurance and their agility, which is a trait not found in any other breed of dog.
“We also find that these dogs have the ability of learning, so they’re great for people with autism, because they have a strong emotional intelligence,” said Dr. David Kowalski, director of the NCSEA’s Center for Applied Behavioral Sciences.
“And they have that great ability to understand people and to understand their needs, and they are very well-adapted to living with people with disabilities.
They can be very adaptive, but they are also very adaptive at a very high level of cognitive functioning.”
“People with autism are often able to recognize that something is wrong in a dog and to recognize when they are going wrong and to do something about it,” said Kowalksi.
“When they’re in a situation where they have an emotion that’s not appropriate, they have the power to respond.
And they can do it in a very logical way.
It’s really remarkable.”
As a result of these traits, English dogs can often be trained to do a variety of tasks, including guarding their owners.
English dogs have also been used to help with domestic violence, and are used in law enforcement.
There are also a number of dog breeds that can be used to train new dogs, including Labrador retrievers, German shepherds, Belgian shepherdies, and Pomeranians.
